Nature Walk

Today we discussed and learned more about one of our five senses, the sense of sight! We enjoyed the weather today while going on a nature hunt using our sense of sight!

Shhhhhhhhhhhh.....

The students are getting very excited to learn about hibernation, migration, and adaptation!
Right now our animals are preparing for winter by eating all the yummy snacks and food that has been brought in for them!

Hibernation animals! Nov. 18th!

Dear 4K Families,

I hope this email finds you doing well. I wanted to get this out earlier than later, as this is a very busy time of year. After Thanksgiving break, our class will be learning about Hibernation and the difference between Hibernation, Migration, and Adaptation. With that being said, I am going to need your help!:)

The week before Thanksgiving Break, November 16th-20th, we will be building a "cave" in the classroom. I would love it if each student would bring in a "hibernating" animal (Bear, Frog, Bat, Fox, Skunk, Squirrel, Snake) on November 18th. We will then place the animals in our "cave" and they will stay there all of break and up until December 4th- when we "wake" them up! (we will just pretend its spring time ;)   )

Before break, I will discuss very briefly with the students what we are doing and what we will be learning about once we return to school. Our animals will be very hungry before they take their long winter nap- so when sending in your "hibernating" animal, please send a small bag as well of one of the following to feed the animal before they hibernate.
( grass, nuts, leaves, dried berries, fish crackers, flowers, dried fruit)

This will be a fun and exciting unit to have after a long break off! :)

Thank you again for all of your continued support in your child's education. I will send out a reminder notice- as November 18th approaches

Family Turkey Project

Happy Monday 4K Families,

In your child's folder you will find a family turkey project- it is much similar to the pumpkin project-however this one does not need to be related to a book character. Have FUN- students in the past have been very creative! :)

Can't wait to see how they turn out!!!!
